Equality, Diversity and Inclusion

Stadium

Bolton Wanderers endorses the principle of Equality and is committed to ensure that everyone who wishes to be involved with Bolton Wanderers, regardless of their role, current or potential:

  • have a genuine and equal opportunity to participate to the full extent of their own ambitions and abilities, regardless of their age, sex, gender identity, disability, marital or civil partnership status, pregnancy or maternity, religion, race, socioeconomic status or sexual orientation; and
  • can be assured of an environment in which their rights and dignity and individual worth are respected and valued, and in particular that they are able to be involved and participate without the threat of discrimination, intimidation, victimisation, bullying, harassment or abuse

The club is working towards the EFL Equality Code of Practice Bronze award. This work has seen the club:

  • Enhance ways in which discrimination can be reported to the club
  • Carry out a fan E,D&I survey to inform our work in the E,D&I space
  • Update our recruitment documentation and methods to encourage a more diverse range of applicants
  • Broaden our training of staff to include mental health awareness training and
  • Has resulted in multiple improvements to the stadium including the introduction of a changing places facility and a wellbeing hub for our fans

We believe compliance with the Code of Practice will lead to greater diversity both within our staff based and our fan base which will benefit the club in years to come.

The club's E,D&I Lead Officer is Amy Capstick, Group Head of HR. If you have any E,D&I related questions or complaints please email acapstick@bwfc.co.uk
